Hurricane Damage Claims

When you come out of the other end of a hurricane, the first thing you do is survey the damage. The second thing you should do is to contact hurricane adjusters. Since 1851, approximately 37 major hurricanes have struck the state of Florida, equaling, roughly, 45% total of all hurricanes to affect the United States during that same timespan, as reported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Hurricane Research Division. Additionally, over 398 tornadoes have struck the state just since 2005 (Sun-Sentinel; NOAA; National Weather Service; AccuWeather).

Florida residents must be aware of the threat these destructive storms pose and, importantly, what to do if one strikes. If your home, apartment, condominium, or business is damaged in the event of a hurricane, tornado, or the severe storms that can arise out of either, contact NCC immediately so that we might provide you with speedy, experienced assistance in recovering your property to its original condition.

We can help you restore your property to its pre-storm condition whether we are enlisted by you just after it strikes or after you have received a small settlement for loss. Our adjusters can file and represent you on any hurricane claim in Florida or tornadoes.  We can re-open a claim with your insurance company!

How We Handle Your Hurricane Damage Insurance Claim

With all the disruption, confusion and relocation a hurricane causes to not only your home, but your life, a hurricane damage claims adjuster will be with you every step of the way.

  • We will meticulously document all of your losses to include any and all benefits afforded to you under the policy.
  • We will assemble a detailed estimate with individual line item breakdown with a list of all tasks using the latest price list in Xactimate software, the same software most carriers use as well.
  • We will handle the claim for you from state to finish.
  • We set all appointments with the adjusters, meet with the adjusters and point out all of the damage to them so they don’t miss anything. This will get the carriers “undisputed” estimate up higher which also raises the reserves on the claim, this detail will greatly help us get a larger final settlement.
  • We are with you during any recorded statement.
  • And, we complete all of the complex and confusing forms for you within the allowed time period.

Our process includes accounting for all damaged contents, additional living expenses such as eating out receipts because your kitchen is down, or if you need a new place to stay because your home is uninhabitable, NCC will manage and get all of the necessary paperwork submitted so you can get properly reimbursed for these expenses.

Steps We Take For You

  • Step 1: After you’ve obtained a full copy of your Homeowner’s insurance policy, we will help you understand your policy.  We will help you understand your policy and the coverages that apply to your loss.
  • Step 2: We will file the claim on your behalf and set an appointment with your adjuster.
  • Step 3: We will prepare a written assessment and an adjuster’s report.  This includes documenting the scope of repairs, materials and costs needed to put you back into pre-loss condition.
  • Step 4: We will complete any and all paperwork such as the Proof Of Loss form or respond to any and all insurance correspondence such as a Reservation of Rights.
  • Step 5: We will be with you throughout the whole process.  We stay with you  until the claim’s conclusion. We have good relationships with the carrier’s adjusters and we will work to come to an agreement whether it be amicable or moving the claims to mediation or appraisal (two forms of loss dispute resolution).
